City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) (CityUHK (Dongguan)) is a jointly established university with independent legal entity status and the full backing of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), Dongguan University of Technology, and the Dongguan Municipal Government. CityUHK (Dongguan) aims to develop into a world-class higher education institution, excelling in both research and education. The university adheres to CityUHK’s philosophy of "Integration of Teaching and Research" and the direction of "Innovating into the Future," ensuring that the academic standards align with those of CityUHK.

To meet the upcoming demands of high-tech development, CityUHK(Dongguan) plans to establish four colleges: the College of Science, the College of Engineering, the College of Business, and the College of Medical and Life Sciences. CityUHK(Dongguan) has received official approval from the Ministry of Education for establishment in 2024 and will launch four undergraduate programs in 2024: Computer Science and Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Energy and Power Engineering. Additionally, six graduate programs will be rolled out in 2024, including Computer Science, Electronic Information Engineering, Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology, Business Information Systems, Engineering Management, and Data Science. Meanwhile, we have begun the admissions process for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Launching a global faculty recruitment campaign that aligns with the standards of a world-class university, the university is inviting individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply for faculty positions at the levels of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. The primary language of instruction and administration at CityUHK (Dongguan) is English.

1.Major Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be expected to:

ØDeliver exceptional instruction, independently or collaboratively, for undergraduate and postgraduate courses;

ØAchieve international recognition and demonstrate leadership in their respective fields through outstanding research outcomes;

ØContribute to administrative tasks and responsibilities within the University department (applicable for senior faculty);

ØProactively secure external funding for research projects, fostering innovation and advancement;

ØProvide exemplary supervision for projects, internships, and theses, guiding students towards academic excellence.

2.Qualifications

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in the relevant field. A strong track record in independent research, teaching, student supervision, and service is highly desirable. Candidates who have recently obtained their PhD with exceptional achievements may also be considered.

For the positions of Chair Professor, Professor, and Associate Professor, applicants should:

ØDemonstrate a record of world-class academic accomplishments and reputable international academic leadership;

ØPossess extensive experience in teaching, student supervision, and securing research project funding;

ØDemonstrate the ability to establish a distinguished research programme aligned with the University's strategic research areas;

ØCommit to delivering high-quality teaching and supervision to a diverse student population at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

For the Assistant Professor position, applicants should:

ØDemonstrate strong potential in research and teaching that aligns with the University's strategic research areas.

1.主要职责

成功入选者将需要履行以下职责:

2.资格条件

申请人应具备相关领域的博士学位。申请人如在独立研究、教学、学生指导和社会实践方面有杰出的成果将会被优先考虑。取得博士学位的应届博士生如具有优异的学术成果也将被考虑。

对于讲座教授、教授和副教授职位,申请人应满足以下要求:

Ø展示出世界一流的学术成就和声誉卓著的国际学术领导力;

Ø在教学、学生指导和申请科研项目方面具有丰富经验;

Ø展示出与大学战略研究领域相一致的科研项目建设能力;

Ø致力于为本科和研究生阶段不同背景的学生提供高质量的教学和指导。

对于助理教授职位,申请人应满足以下要求:

Ø展示出在与大学战略研究领域相一致的研究和教学潜力。
