Founded in 2017, Shanghai Institute of Fog Computing Technology (SHIFT) is focused on the research, development, testing and evaluation of advanced fog/edge computing technologies to solve the network bandwidth, energy, latency, security and communication challenges associated with the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and other comprehensive application scenarios in our digital world.

Fully supported by ShanghaiTech University, SHIFT now invites highly qualified candidates to consider three tenure-track faculty positions in the R&D areas of (i) software, e.g. network operating systems; (ii) hardware, e.g. heterogeneous parallel computing platform, and (iii) algorithms, e.g. distributed AI algorithms, resource scheduling and allocation schemes.

Tenure-track faculty positions in the R&D areas of

(i) software, e.g. network operating systems

(ii) hardware, e.g. heterogeneous parallel computing platform

(iii) algorithms, e.g. distributed AI algorithms, resource scheduling and allocation schemes

-Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field);

-Strong research productivity and demonstrated potentials in fog/edge computing technologies;

-Teaching 1-2 courses in the areas of fog computing networks, edge intelligence, smart city design and applications, 5G and IoT systems, intelligent transportation systems, digital signal processing, etc;

-A minimum relevant research experience of 4 years.

Salary and startup funds are highly competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishment. We also offer a comprehensive benefit package to employees and eligible dependents, including on-campus housing. All regular ShanghaiTech faculty members will join its tenure-track system in accordance with international practice for progress evaluation and promotion.
